When to Book a Coach
Coach vs Minibus — Which Is Right?
The rule of thumb: 25 or more passengers — choose a coach. Under 24 — a minibus is more cost-efficient.
🚌 Book a Coach When:
- Your group has 25 or more passengers
- You need underfloor luggage bays for suitcases or equipment
- You're travelling long-distance (Gold Coast, Sunshine Coast, interstate)
- You need Wi-Fi or onboard toilet for the journey
- You're coordinating a large conference or school camp
- Your group is a sporting team with bags and equipment
- You want reclining seats for a multi-hour journey
🚐 Book a Minibus When:
- Your group has 14 to 24 passengers
- You need to navigate narrow venue driveways or hinterland roads
- You're doing short CBD or inner-Brisbane transfers
- You want a more economical option for a smaller group
- You're doing airport transfers with hand luggage only
- You need multiple small vehicle runs rather than one large coach

Popular Uses
What Brisbane Coach Hire Is Used For
Conference & Convention Transport
Hotel-to-venue delegate shuttles for Brisbane conferences at the BCEC, RNA Showgrounds, and CBD hotels. B.H.B coordinates multi-coach fleets for large conventions with staggered scheduling.
School Camps & Excursions
Full-size coaches for large school year groups. Underfloor luggage bays handle camp gear, sports equipment, and school bags. All drivers WWC-checked for school bookings.
Sporting Groups & Teams
Team transport for rugby, cricket, AFL, and football clubs — players, staff, and equipment in a single vehicle. B.H.B services Brisbane's major sporting venues and inter-state competition travel.
Wedding Guest Shuttles
When the guest list exceeds 40, a full-size coach is more efficient than multiple minibuses. B.H.B coordinates bridal party and guest coach transport to Brisbane, Scenic Rim, Gold Coast, and Sunshine Coast wedding venues.
Day Trips & Regional Tours
Brisbane to Gold Coast, Sunshine Coast, Toowoomba, Byron Bay, and beyond. B.H.B's full-size coaches are equipped for long-distance comfort — reclining seats, luggage bays, and air-conditioning throughout.
Event & Stadium Transport
Suncorp Stadium, The Gabba, Boondall Entertainment Centre, and RNA Showgrounds group transport. B.H.B coordinates coach parking, loading zones, and post-event pickup for large event groups.
Coach hire refers to larger passenger vehicles — typically 33 seats and above. Minibus hire covers 14 to 24-seat vehicles. If your group exceeds 24 passengers, a coach is the right choice. B.H.B operates both — contact us with your group size and we'll recommend the most cost-efficient option.
B.H.B operates 33-seat mid coaches, 38 to 43-seat mid-large coaches, 48 to 57-seat full coaches, and 60 to 80-seat maxi coaches. All coaches are air-conditioned with underfloor luggage bays. Larger coaches include Wi-Fi and onboard toilet facilities.
Coach hire starts from $150/hr GST-inclusive for a 33-seat mid coach. Full coaches (48–57 seats) start from $180/hr. Maxi coaches are quoted individually. All prices include vehicle, driver, insurance, fuel, and tolls. Most large group bookings are quoted as flat-rate packages. Contact B.H.B for a fixed price.
For standard bookings, 2 to 4 weeks notice is usually sufficient. For conferences, Ekka transport, State of Origin, and peak season weekends, book 6 to 8 weeks ahead. Full-size and maxi coaches are in higher demand — earlier booking secures your preferred vehicle size.
